I am sad to report the passing, to the Grand Lodge Above, of Bro. Bryan Harvey James, JP, of St Brides Major, Vale of Glamorgan, at the age of 95.
Bryan was one of the first Initiates of Bridgend's Ewenny Lodge, No. 8485 in September 1973 - 6 months after the Lodge was Consecrated. He was a Purchasing Manager with the National Coal Board at the time.
Bryan was a Magistrate on the Newcastle and Ogmore (Bridgend) Bench having been appointed in 1967. He retired in January 1995 and, coincidentally, I was appointed later that year.

Bryan James of St Brides Major and formerly of Mountain Ash, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth James and dearly loved father and grandfather, died peacefully on 13th February aged
95.
Funeral on Monday 2nd March.
Service at St. Bridget's Church, St. Brides Major at 12:15 p.m. Family flowers only.
