It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of Worshipful Brother Evelyn Edward Jones, Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer.

Worshipful Brother Ted was 87 years old.

A highly regarded and distinguished Freemason, he attained the Chair in the Penybont Lodge No. 6743 in February 1998. He received the Provincial rank of Past Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2004 followed by further promotion to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2008.

He was also a Past First Principal of the Atholl Chapter No. 1752 in 2001.

He served the Penybont Lodge very effectively following his year in the Chair having been its Secretary for eleven years, Charity Steward for three years and Assistant Secretary for four years.

Very many in the Lodge and in the wider Bridgend Masonic community will remember the support and guidance he readily offered stemming from his supportive and kind nature.

Our thoughts are with his daughters and wider family at this time.

The funeral of W. Bro. E. Edward Jones PPrGSwdB will be held at Coychurch Crematorium, Bridgend on Tuesday 7th November 2023 commencing at 12.00 midday.
