OBITUARY
W Bro Wayne Grabham

4th August 2014

It is with much sadness that I report that on August 4th,W.Bro.Wayne Grabham whilst out walking the dog, slipped on some uneven ground and hit his head which caused his instant death.

Wayne was 66yrs of age and is survived by his wife Margaret, his four children and fourteen grandchildren. By trade he was a painter and decorator.

In 1990, just prior to being installed into the Chair of King Solomon in Glanogwr Lodge, Wayne suffered a stroke. In 1996 more health problems followed when he succumbed to Colon Cancer. However such was his character – dogged and determined – he insisted on carrying out all ceremonies himself, even the floor work. This he continued to do and was still our Lodge Chaplain, always performing the Tracing Board in the Third Degree. Apart from his great determination Wayne also had a wicked sense of humour and his presence in the Lodge will be sorely missed.

In 2002 he became a founder member of the Lodge of Contentment and was still Lodge Chaplain.

Wayne was active in many side degrees and held Provincial Rank in each degree. In Royal Arch he was Past P.Z of the Glanogwr Chapter and Chapter Almoner, and in Mark Master Masons he was a Past Master of Dunraven Mark.
Wayne was great of stature and character, he suffered ill-health for very many years but this never affected his involvement in Masonic Life. He will be sadly missed not only in Glanogwr Lodge, but throughout the Province.

Requiescat en pace.

Funeral arrangements are as follows –

Following a short family service at the family home, a full service and cremation will be held at Coychurch Crematorium commencing at 11-30am, on Friday 22nd August and will be conducted by Wayne’s cousin the Rev. Len Grabham. After the service the family will return to the home.

Family flowers only, but donations to Ty-Hafan will be accepted and cheques should be sent to Mrs.Ruby Thomas , 111 Pendre, Bridgend, CF31 PG

Masonic friends and mourners may like to gather at the Masonic Hall after the Service to share fond memories.(Hall will remain open until 2.00pm). The Bar will be available for the purchase of Drinks and Tea/Coffee.

Ralph Jones, Secretary
