| I have been informed that
W Bro / E Comp Roy Hart passed to the “Grand Lodge Above” this
morning 15th September 2022 at 06:30am.
I have now been informed that his funeral will be held at the
Bridgend Crematorium on Tuesday 4th Oct at 1.15pm. |
W. Bro. Roy had been convalescing in the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court home in Porthcawl and was admitted to the Princess of Wales Hospital earlier last week where he passed to the Grand Lodge Above.
W. Bro. Roy celebrated his 91st birthday in April and having been initiated into Freemasonry in the Llangeinor Lodge No 4194 on the 3rd of February 1971 recently joined the ranks of Masonic veterans. |

In the Craft:
W. Bro. Roy was Initiated on 3rd January 1971 into the Llangeinor Lodge No.4194 where he was installed as the Worshipful Master in 1983 and where he held the Offices of Charity Steward in 2004 – 2005 and Secretary from 1991 to 2002.
W. Bro. Roy was a joining Member of the Hendre Lodge No. 3250 from 1985 and was Worshipful Master in 2014 – 2015.
He was a Founder Member of the Adare Lodge No.9247 in 1987 and a Founder Member of the Lodge of Contentment No. 9763 in 2002.
In Provincial Grand Lodge, W. Bro. Roy was Invested as a Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2001 and was promoted to Past Senior Grand Warden in 2014.

In Royal Arch:
E. Comp. Roy was Exalted into the Glanogwr Chapter No.8508 in 1983, and was installed as the Chapter’s First Principal 1995 and in 2001.
E. Comp. Roy was a Founder Member of the Adare Chapter No.9247 in1993 and was installed as the Chapter’s First Principal in 2001.
He was also a Founder Member of the Llangeinor Chapter No.4194 in 2002 and was installed as the Chapter’s First Principal in 2004;
He was a Joining Member of the Hendre Chapter No.3250.

In the Mark Degree:
W. Bro. Roy held Grand Rank and he also held Grand Rank in the Royal Ark Mariners Degree. |
In Rose Croix of H.R.D.M.
Ill. Bro. Roy was a Member of the Holy Well Chapter No.722. He was Perfected in 1989, and became the Sovereign in 2000. He was elevated to 30 degrees, and subsequently promoted to 31 degrees. Ill. Bro. Roy was the Chapter Recorder for many years. |
Prior to Roy being admitted to hospital, he was admitted for respite care in the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court in Porthcawl, and we are grateful to the Home for caring for Roy.
Thanks are also due to W. Bro. Gerald Davis and W. Bro. Brian Smith for all the assistance they have given to Roy particularly since the Passing of Roy's wife, Betty.
Roy will be greatly missed.
