With much sadness, and on behalf of W.Bro. Leslie Pickford, PPrSGW, ProvAGReg, Secretary of Lodge of Contentment No 9763, I bring you the sad news of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of W.Bro. & E. Comp. Philip Charles Saunders. He was 86 at the time of his death on 23rd August 2019.

Initiated in Bridgend's Ogmore Lodge No 1752 in December 1983, Phil' was Installed into the Chair of KS in that Lodge in 1995. He was subsequently Lodge Secretary for four years form 1999. The mid 2000s saw the family move to West Wales and more recently to Cheddar in Somerset. At the time of his passing, Phil was a member of Bridgend's Lodge of Contentment No 9763 and Sir Thomas de Cheddre Lodge No 9188 in the Province of Somerset.

Phil was a busy Mason holding various offices in various Lodges and Chapters. He was a PZ of both Atholl Chapter No 1752, and Adare Chapter No 9247 (both in the Province of South Wales).

Phil Saunders was a good man and Mason whose company was always a pleasure. He will be missed by all who knew him.
