More sad news I’m afraid.

It’s with much sadness that I have to report the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Bro. Ronald Trevor Pike on Sunday 1st January 2017.

Bro Ron , an honorary member of Llangeinor Lodge No. 3194 since 2nd March 2016 was initiated into Llangeinor Lodge on 3rd April 1968, was passed on 2nd April 1969 and raised on 4th February 1970.

Bro Ron, has been a resident in Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, Porthcawl, since 15th April 2013, and celebrated his 100th birthday on 23rd October 2016 when the occasion was marked by the presentation of a cake and a gift by the Provincial Grand Master, R. W. Bro Gareth Jones OBE.

I understand Sylvia, Ron’s widow, is comfortable though it is sad that Bro. Ron’s passing has occurred just before her 97th Birthday.

I have just been informed of the funeral arrangements for Bro. Ron. Pike.

There will be a memorial service in Albert Edward, Prince of Wales Court, Penylan Avenue, Porthcawl, starting at 1.00 p.m. on Monday 16th January. This will be followed immediately afterwards by awake in the home.

There is to be an internment but the family has not yet settled on the details nor whether they or any one should attend.

Bro Ron, one of our longest serving members, though not quite yet a Masonic Veteran, will be celebrating his 100th birthday on 23rd October 2016. 

Brother Ron was initiated into Llangeinor Lodge No. 4194
  on 3rd April 1968

Having made Bro Ron an Honorary member of Llangeinor Lodge earlier this year, Llangeinor Brethren would like to celebrate his birthday and mark the occasion with a small gift and presentation.

Bro Ron is a resident of the Albert Edward Prince of Wales home in Porthcawl.

Unfortunately Bro Ron is too frail to attend Lodge in Bridgend but he is an honorary member of the Albert Edward Court Lodge which meets in the Masonic home and Bro Ron does attend.

The next meeting of the Albert Edward Court Lodge No.9908 will be on Friday 14th October. It is an Installation meeting and will commence at 5pm.

Provincial Grand Secretary, W. Bro. Gerald Rowbottom PSGD PAsstPGM has agreed to make the presentation on the behalf of the Provincial Grand Master.

It is hoped that as many Llangeinor Brethren as possible will attend when a presentation will be made to Bro. Ron.  If you would like to attend please advise me (before 9th October) and I shall make a booking for Llangeinor Brethren.
