It is with much sadness that I inform you of the death last Monday of W.Bro. John Wherrett who was a resident at the R.M.B.I. Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court.

John was initiated in the Venables Llewelyn Lodge No.3756 on 1st November 1969 and was Master in 1981. He was Treasurer of the Lodge from 1982 to 1990 and served as Secretary from 1990 to 1997. He was a former member of the Hendre Lodge, No.3250. In Provincial Grand Lodge he was appointed acting Provincial Senior Grand Deacon in 1987, promoted as Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 1995, and further promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden in 2007. Only last month he was elected an Honorary Member of the Lodge.

In the Holy Royal Arch John was exalted in the Venables Llewelyn Chapter, No.3756 on 12th November 1975 and was 1st Principal in 1985. He served as Treasurer of the Chapter from 1989 to 1998. He was a former member of the Hendre Chapter, No.3250. In Provincial Grand Chapter he was appointed acting Provincial Grand Steward in 1988, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in 1989 and further promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Scribe N. in 1996. He was elected an Honorary Member of the Chapter in November last year.

W.Bro. John was active in other Masonic Orders and held a number of active offices and in which he held both District and Grand Rank.

He will be missed by all who had the privilege of sharing his company.
